SBI SMS Alert is a service from State Bank of India that
allows you to stay updated on your banking transactions on your mobile phone.
These SMS alerts could be event based as per your choice.
Just activate SMS alerts in SBI online and stay updated about any activity in your account.

Types of alerts that you can get
You can choose any one or more from the following
events for which you want to receive SMS alerts for your SBI bank account:
1. Hold on account balance is set (Includes lien
marking also).
2. Hold on account balance is removed.
3. Balance Threshold - SMS whenever balance in the
account falls below the predefined balance
4. Credit threshold - SMS alerts for all credit
transactions above a threshold limit (Minimum Amount Rs.5000).
5. Debit threshold - SMS alerts for all debit transactions
above a threshold limit (Minimum Amount Rs.5000).
6. Pos-transaction-alert – Debit card swiped at PoS (Point
of Sales).
7. Cheque book issue alert - Whenever Cheque book is
issued on account. 8. Cheque Stop alert –
Cheque issued on account is stopped.
9. Cheque dishonor alert – Inward/Outward Clearing
Cheque issued on account/ deposited in the account is dishonoured.
How to Activate
or Deactivate SMS alerts in SBI Online
To activate SMS alerts in SBI online, your mobile
number should be registered with your SBI account. Follow the step by step
procedure below to activate SMS alerts in SBI Online.
1. Visit the SBI official website (https://www.onlinesbi.com/).
2. Login to your SBI account
using your user Id and password.
3. Once login, click on “e-Services”
in the dashboard.
4. Click on “SMS Alerts
Service” on the left-hand side under e-services.
5. Next, the available accounts list will be displayed. Select the
account for which you wish to register or update the SMS Alerts and click on “Proceed|
tab.
6. You will see many types
of alerts on the next page; select the events for which you want to receive SMS alerts. Set the value
for the alert if an alert is associated with a threshold (Above the threshold
value).
7. Once you have selected the SMS alerts as
per your choice, click on “Update” tab.
8. Once you are done. A
success message will be displayed on the screen.
Now you will receive SMS alerts
from SBI as per your selection of events.
How often will you receive SMS alerts?
You will receive the SMS alert(s) when the particular
event happens which is selected by you while registering for SMS alerts.
Can one change the SMS alerts settings?
Yes, you can change the SMS alerts settings and
threshold amount at any time.
Can one disable all alerts for an account?
Yes, you can disable all the SMS alerts for your
account whenever you wish.
How to disable SMS alerts for an account?
Visit the SBI website. Log
in to your SBI account using your user Id and password.
In the SMS Alerts Registration/Updation page, select an account and click the disable hyperlink.
After your confirmation, the SMS alerts will be disabled on a subsequent page.

What should you do if you change your mobile phone number?
If you have changed your mobile phone number then you
can register or update your mobile number through SBI bank website. You can
also register your mobile number by visiting your SBI branch. For Non-Resident
Indian (NRI) customers, a written communication needs to be sent to SBI branch via
post.
