How to use SBI Pay (UPI App of SBI)?



SBI Pay is the SBI UPI App specially designed for the UPI payments system. The UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is a single window mobile payment system of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) aimed at facilitating instant payments. UPI system allows money transfer between any two banks who are part of the UPI by using a smartphone.



What is SBI Pay?

SBI pay is a payment solution for SBI Account holders as well as the account holders of all Banks participating in UPI to send and receive money using their smartphones with a virtual payment address (VPA) acting as a unique identifier. To use the App, no extra details are required other than the virtual payment address.

Features of the SBI Pay

Following are the salient features of SBI Pay (UPI App of SBI)
1. SBI Pay app can be downloaded and used by SBI account holders as well as the account holders of all Banks participating in UPI.
2. Make payment easier using VPA in SBI Pay by managing all your accounts in a single app.
3. Manage your beneficiaries, pay to VPA, Account/IFSC. Aadhaar and QR Codes.
4. Payments can be both Pay (Sender) and Collect (Receiver) initiated.


Where to get SBI Pay App

SBI Pay app is available for Android users. Android users can download SBI Pay app from Google Play Store. Install the app onto your mobile phone and link up with your bank account.


How to set SBI Pay App on your Android phone

1. Download and install SBI Pay app from Google Play Store.
2. Open the SBI Pay app and click on “NEXT > NEXT > GOT IT” for registration.
3. Select the SIM and verify your mobile number (your mobile number should be the same that is already registered with your bank account).

4. In the next step, it will send an SMS from your phone in order to verify with your bank and regular SMS cost will be applied.
5. Register your personal details.
6. Select bank name from the UPI enabled bank list and select default account.

7. Now it will automatically fetch details of your bank account after you select the bank.
8. Enter VPA (Virtual Payment Address).
9. Create App PIN and re-enter App PIN.

10. Enter your email Id or alternate mobile number.
11. Select a security question, write the answer to the selected question and click for next page.
12. A message will be displayed on the screen “Congratulations! Your UPI registration is successful”.

13. Login to SBI Pay App.
14. Click on “SET UPI PIN and enter your Debit card details.

15. You will receive an OTP, enter the received OTP and set your UPI PIN (six digit number) for the selected Bank Account.
16. You will receive a confirmation message: “UPI PIN is set to your account. Please go ahead and do the transactions!

How to transfer money using a VPA (Virtual Payment Address)

1. Login to SBI Pay App and click on “PAY” option.

2. Select Payee VPA, enter amount and remarks (if any).
3. Click on confirm button.
4. Enter UPI PIN and click on submit.
You can also transfer money using IFSC, Aadhaar or QR code option.


How to receive money using a VPA (Virtual Payment Address)

1. Login to SBI Pay App and click on “COLLECT” option.
2. Select Payer VPA, enter the amount, expiry, and remarks (optional).
3. Click on confirm to initiate Collect.
4. You can receive money after payer approves Collect request.



Hope now you will be able to set and use SBI Pay app on your Android phone. You can transfer and receive money using VPA, Account/IFSC, Aadhaar and QR Codes through SBI Pay App.
