It is possible that your PAN card gets lost, stolen, misplaced or damaged. In that case, there is no need to apply for a new number. Instead, you can
apply for the duplicate PAN card or reprint PAN card online.
The entire process to apply
for the duplicate PAN card is very simple and paperless. You can do all this
online without uploading any documents through
your Aadhaar card.
What is a duplicate PAN card?
Duplicate PAN card is a
document issued by income tax department to the PAN holder when s/he loses
her/his card. Now it is very easy to get it online. PAN number once allotted
and issued will remain valid for the lifetime. If you have lost your card then take

Note that to complete this
process, your mobile number must be registered in your Aadhaar database and the
details given in your Aadhaar card should also match with your PAN details.
Situations when you need to apply for a duplicate one?
You can apply for a
duplicate card in the following situations
1. When it gets lost or
stolen.
2. When you misplaced it
somewhere.
3. In the event when it gets
damaged.
4. When you need to change some
information.

When you lose your card, the
first thing to do is to file an FIR in order to safeguard yourself from any
misuse of it. In this post, I will tell you how you can get a duplicate one.
This process can also be used
for changes or corrections when your existing card has inaccuracies such as name,
date of birth etc.
How to apply for duplicate PAN card online?
The step by step process to apply
for duplicate one online without uploading any documents through your Aadhaar
card is as under.
1. Go to the NSDL Website https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html
2. You have to click on
“Application Type” and select “Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data / Reprint PAN Card (No
changes in existing PAN Data).
3. Select your category.
4. In the next section, you need to fill your details that
include title, name, date of birth, email Id,
mobile number, PAN number etc.
5. Enter Captcha code and click on “Submit” button.
6. You will be redirected to a new page. Note down the
Token number and click on “Continue with PAN Application form”

At this stage, choose the mode of submission of PAN Application documents.
You can use Aadhaar-based eKYC method. In
this option, there is no need to upload Photo, Sign and supporting documents. The
photograph used in Aadhaar card would be printed on it.
8. Enter PAN number and Aadhaar number.
9. Select your gender, enter
your father’s name in parent’s column and click on “Next” tab.
10. In case of duplicate one,
no need to change the address.
11. Select country code and
click on “Next” tab
12. Select proof of PAN.
13. Fill declaration details
and click on “Submit” button.
14. Pay the charges online
using your Debit card, Credit card or Net Banking and click on continue.
15. Here you can see Aadhaar
Authenticate option. Click “Authenticate” to authenticate your Aadhaar card.
16. Click on “Continue with
e-KYC / e-Sign”.
17. Enter the OTP which you
received on your mobile number registered with Aadhaar
18. Click on “Submit”
button.
19. Here you can view your Acknowledgement number.
Note down this Acknowledgement number which can be used to track your
application.
20. Your application has been successfully submitted for
your duplicate card.
So the entire online process
to apply for the duplicate one is very simple and paperless.
If you select the option to
submit scanned images through eSign then
you need to upload the scanned images of the required documents.
If you select the option to forward
application documents physically then you need to send the required documents.
Duplicate PAN Card | Reprint PAN Card online via UTIITSL website
In the same way, you can use
the UTIITSL website (https://www.pan.utiitsl.com/panonline_ipg/forms/csfPan.html/csfPreForm) to
apply for the duplicate one online without uploading any documents through your Aadhaar card.
Notable points
1. You need to file an FIR
at the nearest police station if you lost your card due to theft.
2. Your card will be sent to
the communication address as per the latest details available with the income
tax department.
4. Charges for reprint of
PAN card:
(i) Rs. 50/- for dispatch within
India (inclusive of taxes).
(ii) Rs. 959/- for dispatch outside
India (inclusive of taxes).
3. This facility can be used
by you if you have been allotted your PAN but requires a new one.
