Aadhaar number is a 12-digit
random number issued by the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) to
the residents of India after satisfying the verification process.
Any individual who is a
resident of India, can voluntarily enrol to obtain Aadhaar number. An
individual needs to enrol only once as after de-duplication only one Aadhaar
will be generated.
The individual willing to
enrol has to provide minimal demographic and biometric information during the
enrolment process. This process is totally free of cost.
However, you need to pay
certain charges for updating or changing any details fed into the Aadhaar
database at certain circumstances. In this post, let’s take a look at the charges
for Aadhaar services and what are the charges for Aadhaar updation / correction.
Charges for Aadhaar Services
According to a circular
issued by UIDAI dated April 22, 2019, the charges for updation of demographic
details are Rs. 50. Before this circular, it was Rs. 25.
Similarly, the charges for updation
of biometric details are Rs. 50. The charges for Aadhaar search using e-KYC, to
find Aadhaar or any other tool and colour printout on A4 sheet is Rs. 30.
Note that the updation of
more than one field on a single instance is considered as one update. The
charges are inclusive of taxes.

UIDAI official website also.
This facility of address update will continue to be free of cost.
