SBI Phone Banking | How to use SBI Phone Banking
SBI now gives you the facility of phone banking. SBI phone banking is a functionality through which you can do many of the banking transactional services through contact centre over phone. Using SBI phone banking you can now get your account balance and transaction details over phone round the clock. You will also get information on deposits & loan schemes and services without having to visit a branch. SBI phone banking has brought banking services at your doorsteps. In this post, let’s look at the process of registration and services available under SBI phone banking.
Requirement for using SBI Phone Banking
Registration of your mobile number in your SBI account is one of the
basic perquisites to avail SBI Phone Banking. User Id and password are also required
for using SBI Phone Banking. Your SBI account number is your user Id and you can
generate your password through three different modes.
Services available under SBI Phone Banking
After registration for SBI phone banking, you can avail the following services over the phone through contact centre.
1. Account related information
You can get your account balance and transaction related details. You can also request for the issue of statement of account for a maximum period of six months by post or email.
2. Cheque book request
You can give a request for the issue of a cheque book.
3. Stop payment of cheque
You can stop the payment of a single cheque or multi cheques.
4. Transfer of funds within SBI accounts
You can transfer funds within SBI accounts from 8 am to 8 pm.
a) Funds transfer to own accounts within certain limits.
b) Funds transfer to third party accounts within certain limits.
5. Opening of fixed deposit
You can open term deposit and special term deposit with SBI.
6. Interest certificate through post or e-mail
You can ask for issuance of interest certificate for your home and educational loan and deposit interest certificate by post or email.
7. Mobile number updation
You can update your registered mobile number through SBI phone banking.
8. Information about TDS (tax deducted at source)
You can ask information about tax deducted at source (TDS).
SBI Phone Banking registration process
You can register and generate your password for SBI phone banking through
following three different modes.
1. SBI phone banking registration and password generation through contact centre
You need to call at contact centre toll-free (1800112211 or 18004253800) / toll number
(080-26599990). Select the correct path in IVR as per the instructions. Now enter your ATM card number, PIN, account number and your registered mobile number (if you are not calling from your registered mobile number), as per instruction of recorded voice system
(IVR). After successful registration, you will receive a six digits SBI phone banking password on your registered mobile
number.
2. SBI phone banking registration and password generation through ATM
Swipe your ATM card in the ATM slot. Select registration
option in ATM screen. Now enter ATM PIN and the next screen will appear where you have to select “Phone
Banking Registration”. Then enter your registered mobile number in the space provided and
select correct. After successful
registration, you will receive a six digits SBI phone banking password on your registered mobile number.
3. SBI phone banking registration through branch
You need to visit your home branch and submit phone banking application. You will get a pre-printed
kit containing six digits SBI phone banking password from the
branch.
