How to link Aadhaar and PAN to LIC policies?

The Government has made it mandatory to link Aadhaar and PAN to your insurance policies like life insurance, health insurance and any other type of insurance you are holding and the deadline is March 31, 2018.

As per IRDAI’s (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India) circular it is now mandatory for all insurance policyholders to link their Aadhaar and PAN numbers to their insurance policies. If one does not have a PAN card, he/she can furnish Form 60 to comply with this requirement. The Authority (IRDAI) clarifies that linking of Aadhaar number to insurance policies is mandatory under the Prevention of Money-laundering (Maintenance of Records) Second Amendment Rules, 2017.

How to link Aadhaar and PAN to LIC policies?

LIC (Life Insurance Corporation of India) has started a link on its website for the purpose of link Aadhaar and PAN to LIC policies. But before linking your Aadhaar and PAN to LIC policies, keep the following points in mind.

1. Keep your Aadhaar Card and PAN card handy along with the list of your LIC policies.

2. Mobile number as registered with UIDAI is to be entered. OTP will be sent to the number provided. (In case your mobile number is not updated in Aadhaar database, kindly contact nearby LIC Branch Office for Aadhaar Linking.)

3. After submitting the form, a message will be shown on the success of the registration for linkage.

4. After verification with UIDAI, SMS / mail confirmation will be sent to you.

5. The verification may take few days.

Link Aadhaar and PAN to LIC policies via online mode

1. Visit LIC website: https://www.licindia.in/

2. Click on the link “Link Aadhaar and PAN to Policy” on this page.

3. You will be redirected to a new page. Read the notable points carefully.

4. Click on “PROCEED” button.

5. A new page will open again.

6. Enter the details like the full name as per Aadhaar, date of birth, Aadhaar number, select your gender, email Id, PAN, mobile number as per Aadhaar and policy number.

7. Give your consent by clicking on the box and enter the captcha code to proceed further.

8. Click on “Get OTP” button. Now you will receive the OTP to your mobile number. Enter the OTP in the field provided and click on “Submit”. 

9. After submitting this filled form, a message will be shown on the success of the registration for linkage.

10. After verification with UIDAI, SMS / mail confirmation will be sent to you. The verification may take few days.

Link Aadhaar and PAN to LIC policies via offline mode

You can also link Aadhaar and PAN to LIC policies by visiting the nearest LIC branch office. You need to submit a self-attested copy of your Aadhaar card to complete the linking process.
