Procedure for getting License
to work as an LIC Agent
Below is a simple step-by-step
process on how to become an LIC agent
1. You need to contact your
nearest LIC Branch Office and meet the Development Officer there.
2. The LIC Branch Manager will
conduct an interview, and if found suitable, you will be sent to training at
Divisional/Agency Training Centre.
3. The training is for 25
hours. The training covers all aspects of Life Insurance Business. It covers
the mandatory IRDA training requirements and LIC product-training module.
4. After successful completion
of training you will have to appear for Pre-Recruitment examination. This examination
is conducted by IRDA (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India).
5. After successful completion
of the examination you will be provided an Appointment Letter and Identity Card
to work as an insurance agent.
6. You will be appointed as an
LIC agent by the Branch Office. Now you will be a part of the team under your
Development Officer.
7. Your Development Officer
will impart you field training and other valuable inputs which will help you in
the market place. Though individual meetings with your Development Officer, you
can discuss various issues related to business development and career
enhancement.
