How to download LIC Premium Paid Certificate online for IT Returns

We all know that insurance policies are eligible for Income Tax deduction under the section 80C of Income Tax act. However, to avail this benefit, it is mandatory to produce premium paid receipt or premium paid certificate for insurance policies.

If you have purchased an LIC insurance policy and you are paying your LIC premiums via online or offline mode then you would be getting your LIC premium paid receipts via email or hard copy from cash counter.

However, if you are paying LIC premiums via ECS, then you required a premium paid certificate. You can also get it if you lost your hard copy of LIC receipt or you have not received it through email.

Premium Paid Certificate

It is a premium statement issued by an insurance company against payment of the premium amount during the financial year.

There can get two types of premium paid certificates.

a) Individual policy: It provides history of premiums paid for a single policy during the financial year. (Available for three financial years including the current financial year).

b) Consolidated: It provides history of premiums paid for all the registered own policies of the user, (Policies in the name of spouse and children are not included) during the financial year. (Available for three financial years including the current financial year).

How to get LIC Premium Paid Certificate

There are three different ways to get your LIC premium paid certificate.

1. Contact your LIC agent

2. Visit your LIC branch

3. Download LIC premium paid certificate online

First two options are time-consuming. Downloading it online is a simple and easy way. This option will save you a lot of time.

How to download LIC Premium Paid Certificate online for IT Returns

Step by step instructions to download it online for IT Returns is as under.

1. Register for LIC e-Services

LIC e-Services is LIC's initiative to provide you with on-demand service with just a few clicks. In this step, you need to register yourself at LIC e-Services portal. However, if you have already registered for LIC e-Services then just log in using your User Id and password. If you are a new user then you have to sign up for availing this service.

2. Login to LIC e-Service Portal

In this step, you have to log in to LIC e-Services portal (https://ebiz.licindia.in/D2CPM/#Login) using your user Id, password and your date of birth.

3. Select Basic Services option

Click on “Basic Services” option under “My App”. In “Basic Services” you can access View Premium Calendar, View Receipts, Policy Schedule, Policy Status, Loan Status, Revival Status, Claim Status, Revival Quotation, Add New Policies, Policy Premium Paid Statements. Now click on “Proceed” button and it will take you to a new page.

4. Select Policy Premium Paid Statement option

Go to the menu on the left-hand side and select “Policy Premium Paid Statement” option as shown in the image below. It will take you to a new page where you have to select Financial Year. Once you select the financial year the system will display a list of your registered policies.

5. Select Policy for Premium Paid Statement

In this step, you have to select a policy for which the certificate is required. If you want a consolidated certificate then select all the policies.

6. Generate and Download Premium Paid Statement

Click on “Generate Statement” button after selecting the policies. Now you can download and print your Premium Paid Statement.

This is how you can download it online. This statement contains information’s such as policy number, number of instalments & payment mode, amount, received date, collecting and servicing branch etc. about all selected policies. If there is any mismatch in this statement then you need to contact LIC local branch.

Hope now you will be able to download LIC Premium Paid Certificate online by following the step by step instructions mentioned above. After downloading this certificate, submit it to your employer to avoid extra deduction of TDS from your salary income.
